The Senior Controls Engineer will support the design, installation, commissioning, and operation of a new Battery Active Material (BAM) factory. This position will be tasked with the control system design and construction of the world’s largest production facility of next generation lithium silicon anode materials.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
Assist in the design, construction, and commissioning of the control systems for BAM-2, our new state of the art facility in Moses Lake, WA.
Interface with operations, support reliability efforts, provide hands on controls related technical support, training, and guidance.
Develop, debug, modify, and maintain PLC, DCS, SIS code and HMI graphics.
Design, configure, and maintain Data Historians, MES, and SCADA systems.
Create and maintain procedures and documentation for automated control systems.
Help develop control system architecture, technical requirements, and component design specification for the BAM-2 facility.
Provide ongoing support during production for technical issues related to the control systems and equipment.
Contribute to manufacturing best practices and a facility wide safety philosophy.
Other related duties/functions as assigned.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
Education: 4-year degree in engineering or related discipline (Electrical, Mechatronics, Mechanical, or Computer Science degree) preferred. A 2-year degree or Trade Certification and equivalent experience may be substituted.
Experience: 8+ years of directly related experience in control systems engineering, industrial engineering, process controls, or automated manufacturing is required.
Experience with DCS & SIS (Emerson DeltaV or similar), experience with PLC programming (Siemens or similar), experience with instrumentation and PID tuning.
Communication: exceptional verbal and written ability with the aptitude to communicate professionally with production personnel, management, contractors, and project leadership.
Methodology: good engineering and good documentation practice.
Experience (or strong desire to learn) in using collaboration tools (such as SharePoint) for project execution.
Willingness and ability to take on challenging projects.
OTHER QUALITIES WE’D LOVE FOR YOU TO HAVE:
Familiarity with instrumentation and PID tuning: flow, level, temperature.
SCADA/HMI application development, Data Historians, MES.
PLC/DCS/SIS programming, debugging, troubleshooting.
Knowledge of industrial networks, virtual machines, thin clients, cybersecurity.
Experience with VFDs, robotics, machine vision, barcode scanners.
Startup and commissioning experience, preferably in chemical processing.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
Mechanical-Electrical-Plumbing (MEP) Managers are responsible for the overall success of specific capital construction projects. This includes working with construction managers, project/program managers, contractors, vendors and other project stakeholders to develop and execute project plans, manage schedule, and ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget and meeting the goals and objectives of the company. A MEP manager is generally responsible for:
Overseeing the MEP coordination process throughout construction.
Develop and maintain relationships with engineers, subcontractors and owners to ensure alignment with expectations from initiation to completion of the project.
Manage and make decisions related to the performance of work related to scheduling, delivery, logistics, quality control.
Assist with managing the overall site safety program and ensuring subcontractor and vendor compliance with all applicable safety codes and regulations.
Working with trades on coordination and sequencing effort for mechanical and electrical systems, equipment and piping layouts utilizing drawing sets and 3D models.
Review various building system trades installation progress for compliance with drawings, specifications, quality and schedule.
Identify schedule risks and opportunities and communicate them to the project team.
Develop construction schedule and production plans.
Produce progress and compliance reports and logs.
Develop and execute project plans for a capital project within the context of the overall capital program, including defining project scope, schedule and budget
Allocation and managing company resources.
Manage project budgets and track expenses to ensure that projects stay within budget.
Use common project management tools such as Earned Value Management to forecast, identify and address project risks and opportunities as well as manage change over the project’s lifecycle.
Coordinate with the project stakeholders, including internal and external teams to keep everyone informed of project progress and to resolve any issues that arise.
Oversee general execution of specific projects within the capital program.
Identify and mitigate risks and opportunities to ensure project success.
Manage project changes and ensure that all changes are documented and approved by all relevant parties.
Work with the Construction Manager to Report on project progress to management and relevant project stakeholders.

Senior Manager, Central Engineering
The Senior Manager, Central Engineering is a seasoned, accomplished manager ready and enthused to lead a world-class engineering group. The Central Engineering Manager has a keen eye for detail from the initial idea to drawings to fruition. This role requires excellent leadership skills in managing staff of different disciplines to produce results in a timely manner. Establish and maintain mechanical integrity programs
Up to 20% travel required to support global operations
Providing guidance regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
Experience with PSM or RMP Facilities.
10+ years of engineering and 5+ years of team leadership experience in chemical or materials manufacturing.
Degree in engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical or similar) or technical discipline.
Experience managing capital projects.
Demonstrated leadership experience guiding engineering, manufacturing, and/or technical teams.
Ability to lead a central engineering team with direct reports in different locations and time zones.
