BAM-3 supplies Group14’s proprietary silicon battery material, SCC55®, to more than 100 global customers. Group14 actively delivers materials to manufacturers representing over 95% of worldwide rechargeable battery production capacity across the automotive, consumer electronics, aerospace, and grid storage sectors.

BAM-3 features an initial annual production capacity of 2,000 tonnes of SCC55®, equivalent to 10 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of capacity. This volume is sufficient to power millions of devices and vehicles annually, ranging from AI-enabled smartphones and wearables to electric vehicles (EVs), eVTOL aircraft, and stationary grid energy storage systems.

Group14 owns 100% of the BAM-3 factory, following a full acquisition in August 2025 from long-standing partner SK Inc. Originally established in July 2021 as a joint venture named SK Materials Group14, the facility was built to scale global production and overcome supply chain bottlenecks for silicon battery materials.

Yes. While located in South Korea to directly serve Asian manufacturing hubs, the silicon battery material (SCC55®) produced at the BAM-3 facility is exported and delivered to automotive OEMs and cell manufacturers globally.
