We are proud to announce that with our partners, we’ve reached a total donation amount of $175,000. This funding will support at least seven Boys & Girls Club programs, four extended care sites, and more than 600 young individuals.
All eight contributing partners came together at a local Club location in Moses Lake to deliver the check to Kim Pope, Executive Director of Boys & Girls Clubs of the Columbia Basin. Representatives from each of the contributing partners joined the check presentation in support of the community: Apollo, Barin Group, Clayco Foundation, Group14, McKinstry, North Central Construction, Transco, and Valley Electric.
“The support that’s been so quickly rallied behind the Boys & Girls Clubs is a testament to the strength of our community here in Moses Lake,” said Don Kersey, Group14 BAM-2 plant manager. “This donation is not only about securing after-school care and resources — it’s also about investing in the future of our community’s children. It’s a proud moment, both as a Moses Lake native and a Group14 employee.”
Earlier in 2024, the Moses Lake School District announced that it is confronting significant budgetary constraints for the upcoming 2024-25 school year, which stand to significantly impact the continuing operation of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Columbia Basin. Group14 saw a need to support the Clubs’ program funding for August through December 2024, and together with community partners secured donations to more than meet the Clubs’ $170,000 shortfall.
This donation is part of Group14’s broader community engagement program, which seeks to enable careers in clean energy through equitable access to education and job opportunities. The Washington-based company regularly volunteers with organizations like the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Columbia Basin, sponsors fundraising events, and supports STEM education programs, initiatives, and events year-round. Group14 also participates in career development events and local job fairs throughout the year and is building apprenticeship, internship, and scholarship programs to support historically underrepresented groups and disadvantaged communities.
