Our flagship product and first offering, SCC55â„¢, is a silicon-carbon composite that transforms lithium-ion batteries into silicon batteries. Its proven performance makes it a best-in-class anode material that completely alters the possibilities for electrification and clean energy storage.
At Group14, we’re dedicated to advancing battery material innovation and scalable commercial manufacturing processes globally. Through our patented scaffold technology, Scaffold Prime™, we’re developing materials for both today’s and tomorrow’s batteries, including next-generation solid-state batteries, lithium-air batteries, and beyond. Our processes for manufacturing these novel materials overcome the cost, scale, and performance barriers that traditionally have slowed the world’s transition toward an all-electric future.

Group14 is an advanced technology company really focused on the current challenges with energy storage: performance, costs, availability, scalability — all are critical considerations when adopting new energy storage technologies, and those are constraints right now with our global need to electrify everything.
Group14 is working very hard with our partners, our strategic partners, and other collaborators to find ways to break through those constraints, improving performance, improving costs, improving availability of materials, and being able to scale these truly at a global scale.
Right now, we’re focused on lithium-ion. By exchanging the anode for a silicon-based anode, we can transform lithium-ion batteries into lithium-silicon batteries. We can also address some of the challenges with solid-state batteries. Our silicon-carbon composite works very well in solid-state systems. And so, it’s not just a technology for today. This is truly also a technology for tomorrow.
Looking beyond even solid-state, we continue to look at opportunities to really get to that next transformational level in energy storage. Maybe that’s lithium-air, maybe that’s lithium-sulfur. Maybe it’s some battery technology yet to be invented. We do think that our technology team here has got the passion and the expertise and the intellectual curiosity to go solve whatever those next challenges are, pushing energy storage to the next limit.
